Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I've spent the majority of my life in Oregon. My love of clay began in high school and continued on to the University of Oregon where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics in 2003. I have been teaching and selling my work professionally for more than 20 years. I currently work out of my studio/gallery in downtown TIllamook, and have the encouragement and support of a loving husband, one doggy mutt and a crazy cat.

 

My environment is the source of inspiration for my work. Life experience sparks creativity and shapes my designs. From something as simple as a bird on a wire to as nuanced as immersing myself in a different country/culture. Patterns, textures, contours and colors from fabric, plants, creatures and buildings inspire me to create tactile surfaces that fingers want to touch. Small details reveal the attention and care that goes into the design of each unique piece. Vibrant colors, fun textures, hand carved stamps, form and function come together in clay to tell a story of the world that surrounds us.
